Career Technical Education

GOAL Digital Academy offers Career Technical Pathways in Business Administration, Arts and Communication, Information Technology, and Health Science.  Students can earn certifications or credentials in a variety of areas. Our instructors are certified. These courses are offered absolutely free to all high school-aged Ohio students and offered completely online with extra opportunities for hands-on experience. Classes offer multiple real workforce certifications that students will earn so they are "industry ready” to enter the workforce following high school. Career Technical education is an exceptional opportunity for today's high school students to explore different interests and career paths, all while earning real industry-specific certifications.

Visual Design 1

Visual Design 1 (1 Credit) - 9th-12th Grade This is an introductory course for the Visual Design program. You will learn the basics of design as well as what tools can be used in order to prepare you for further exploration. (9th & 10th graders wanting to explore the world of Graphic Design)

Visual Design 2

Visual Design 2 (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade Focuses on the basics of graphic/video design utilizing Adobe products such as: • Photoshop: Visual Design using Adobe Photoshop Certification • Illustrator: Graphic design & illustration using Adobe Illustrator Certification • Premiere Pro: Digital video using Adobe Premiere Pro Certification • After Effects: Visual effects & motion graphics using Adobe After Effects Certification

Digital Photography & Media

Digital Photography & Media (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade Focuses on Photography and utilizing photography editing software such as: • Photoshop: Visual Design using Adobe Photoshop Certification Certification • InDesign: Print & digital media publication using Adobe InDesign Certification

Web Design 1 (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade Throughout the course students are introduced to planning and designing effective web pages; implementing web pages by • Writing HTML, CSS, JS, and PHP code • Enhancing web pages with the use of page layout techniques, text formatting, graphics, images, and multimedia • Producing a functional, multi-page website • Web authoring using Adobe Dreamweaver Certification

Business (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade Logistics (1 Credit) - 11th-12th Grade This program is designed to test concepts around starting and managing a small business and then helps you demonstrate in-depth knowledge of a broad range of supply chain logistics topics to set you apart from your peers — proving your high level of knowledge and skills: • Entrepreneurship & Small Business • CLTD Logistics Certification

Information Technology

Information Technology (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade IT Fundamentals (ITF+) is the only pre-career certification that helps students or career changers determine if they have a competency for information technology and if it is the right career path for them. It is an introductory course into computer hardware and software that prepares students for a CompTIA Industry Certification and/or Test Out Pro Certification and is the first in a series of the 4 Core certification prep courses to help prepare students for a rewarding career in Information Technology. Core certifications include: • ITF+ Certification • A+ Certification • Network+ Certification • Security+ Certification

Agriculture/Natural Resources & Plant & Animal Science

Agriculture/Natural Resources (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade Plant & Animal Science (1 Credit) - 11th-12th Grade We will provide an introduction to Agricultural and Environmental Systems, along with learning how to apply responsible animal management principles.

Health Science

Health Science (1 Credit) - 10th-12th Grade Provides the knowledge and skills students need for careers in healthcare. Students explore: • Services • Structure • Healthcare professions • Alternative medicine • Nutrition • Real-life application scenarios

STNA Prep (State Tested Nurse Aide)

STNA Prep (1 Credit) - 11th-12th Grade STNA Prep is a half-year Career and Technical Education course designed to coincide with the STNA course that is offered each semester. Students explore: • Nurse aide roles and skills • Communication and interpersonal skills • Signs and symptoms of disease • Aging • Death and dying • Hygiene • Grooming • Mobility.

STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide)

STNA (1 Credit) - 11th-12th Grade This is a hands on course that you will have to attend in person. The course prepares you and walks you through the STNA Certification. At the end you will take the certification test.

CT Productivity Tools

Productivity Tools (1 Credit) - 9th-12th Grade This course teaches the skills you need to be Microsoft Certified in Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
